‘Seeing the Forest For the Trees’ Zoom Gathering
In accompaniment to the exhibition ‘Seeing the Forest For the Trees’ at Art Agenda @ 63 in Singapore, May Wan hosts a sustainability-themed Zoom gathering alongside the artists Ang Song Nian, Woong Soak Teng and Fitri Ya’akob to discuss sustainability in the art world. Beginning with a special two-course dinner and cocktail by 1880, this virtual get-together will also include a hands-on workshop led by @foliewge to create a foliage arrangement and offers a shared space to interact with the artists and curators.

In Dialogue with Adeline Kueh, Jason Lim, Ian Woo, Zul Mahmod, Marc Gloede
Marc Gloede, guest curator of the group exhibition ‘On Time’, moderates a conversation among four Singaporean artists who took part in a residency with STPI one after the other in 2021: Adeline Kueh, Jason Lim, Ian Woo and Zul Mahmod. The dialogue will discuss featured works from print to sculpture, relief to installation and address the impact of time on manifold levels, considering the time of production as well as the role of the audience’s engagement.

Contemplating Images: History and Theory of Photography
With an aim to cultivate a deeper understanding of the complexities within the photographic medium, DECK presents a photography course consisting of six public lectures by Singapore artist and educator, Sebastian Mary Tay. Across three weeks in October, participants can expect to learn important ideas and philosophical concepts key to photography.

Stories Across Rising Lands: Artists and Curators Discussion Part Two
Museum MACAN presents a two-part discussion in conjunction with ‘Stories Across Rising Lands’, a new exhibition of contemporary art from Southeast Asia. The first part features six artists who share about how experiences from their homelands affect their lives and artistic practices. In the second panel, co-curator Asep Topan speaks with Ho Rui An, Kawita Vatanajyankur and Saleh Husein to reflect upon the influences of media, history, society, politics and technologies on their artistic developments.

Season 1 of ‘Pass the Mic’ Vodcast
The first season of the vodcast series, ‘Pass the Mic’, consists of five episodes, each featuring a contemporary artist who reflects upon the influence of a modern Southeast Asian artist on their practice. The intergenerational pairings include Zico Albaiquni and A.D. Pirous, Yanyun Chen and Latiff Mohidin, Richard Straitmatter-Tran and Nguyen Phan Chanh, Patricia Perez Eustaquio and Vicente Manansala, and Haffendi Anuar and Simryn Gill. Available on both YouTube and IGTV, the series bridges generations of Southeast Asian artists to explore the interconnectedness in the region’s art scene.
